When I took up responsibility as CEO of World Vision Australia at the end of 1988, I began writing a newsletter to staff. We were about 250 at that time and it was impossible for me to speak to everyone every week even though we had a weekly staff meeting that was part information and part inspiration. We called it "Big Devos". This newsletter was mostly published fortnightly, but not on a strict schedule. Although I used WordPerfect to write it, we printed it to hard copy and placed it on everyone's desk (it was 1988 after all). The 1989 editions and a few others have been lost.
